BRIGANDINE ABYSS Mission Mode Guide
Plan BRIGANDINE ABYSS Mission Mode around its 24 nations, unique objectives, season pressure, strongholds, and required battles.
Direct answer
Read the mission objective before spending a season. Build only the army, strongholds, collection route, or cash flow that advances that condition, and protect the leaders required to finish it.
Quick answer
- Choose from 24 nations with unique objectives
- Turn the objective into a short season budget
- Protect leaders in every required battle

Make the objective your campaign plan
Mission Mode turns the objective text into your economy plan. Story Mode follows six full nation campaigns against the Neo Abyssloa Empire. Mission Mode opens 24 nations, gives each one a distinct objective and short character story, and asks you to build around that constraint.
Do not begin with a generic conquest routine. A nation trying to repay debt values cash flow differently from one collecting monsters, defending strongholds, or unifying the continent.
Know what changes from Story Mode
| Mode | Selectable scope | Main structure | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Story Mode | 6 nations | Full campaigns opposing the Neo Abyssloa Empire | Learn a faction's central cast and story arc |
| Mission Mode | 24 nations | Unique objectives with short nation stories | Solve focused strategic constraints and try the wider map roster |
Stories and missions can be selected freely. With 20 save slots available, you can keep multiple experiments running without abandoning a main campaign. The faction comparison covers the six Story starting choices; Mission Mode extends beyond that set.
Read the mission card first
Classify the objective before moving a leader:
- Map objective: unify territory or reach a conquest state.
- Stronghold objective: strengthen or defend specified bases.
- Collection objective: obtain designated items or monsters.
- Roster objective: gather required allies.
- Economy objective: repay debt or reach a money condition.
The confirmed objective list covers those families. The exact target, timing, and starting position belong to the individual mission, so the mission card remains the final authority for that run.
Build the first-season plan
- Write the finish condition. Reduce the mission text to one measurable state, such as a held stronghold, collected roster, or cleared debt.
- Reserve required leaders. Keep the squads needed for objective battles out of avoidable risks.
- Choose one growth channel. Use stronghold upgrades for lasting unit bonuses or Exploration for resources, money, and experience only when that return advances the objective.
- Spend one season at a time. Reject side actions that do not improve the finish condition or protect the route to it.
- Recheck after every Attack Phase. Update the route when borders, resources, or the required roster change.
Prepare by objective family
| Objective family | Early priority | Battle preparation | Common waste |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unify the continent | Map access and complete invasion squads | Preserve leaders so a full squad is not forced out | Developing bases that do not support the active front |
| Strengthen strongholds | Materials and the named base | Defend the investment while upgrades come online | Spending materials at unrelated strongholds |
| Defend strongholds | Reliable border squads and safe leaders | Use formation and terrain to keep the leader protected | Chasing distant territory while the target base is thin |
| Collect items or monsters | Exploration, market access, and roster capacity | Fight only when it opens the required source or route | Buying upgrades with no connection to the collection |
| Gather allies | Access to the required recruitment path | Keep an open, stable squad structure for the new unit | Filling every slot before the required ally arrives |
| Repay debts | Positive cash flow and controlled purchases | Avoid losses that demand replacement spending | Duplicate gear and speculative hiring |
For material, Exploration, hiring, and market decisions, use the base development guide. It gives those systems a next-battle spending rule.
Turn the objective into a season budget
Use a simple three-column note at the start of each Organization Phase:
| Must happen now | Can wait | Fails the mission plan |
|---|---|---|
| One action that directly advances the condition | Useful growth with no current deadline | Any action that consumes the same leader, materials, or money without advancing the condition |
Move only the first column into orders. When a mission applies time pressure, this removes low-value actions before they consume a season. When the objective allows patience, the same note reveals when an extra Exploration or stronghold upgrade has lasting value.
Check progress every Organization Phase
- Can you state exactly how the last season advanced the objective?
- Is the finishing squad stronger, closer, or safer than one season ago?
- Did Exploration return a resource the mission actually needs?
- Is a required leader still available for the decisive battle?
If the first two answers are no, stop broad development and return to the objective text.
Protect the finishing battle
BRIGANDINE ABYSS battles use leaders commanding monster squads on hex maps. Defeating a leader forces the attached squad to retreat, so objective battles reward preservation more than decorative damage totals.
Use the battle tactics guide to map terrain, ZOC, counters, and leader focus before committing the required squad. A mission can survive a slow battle; it may fail when the only prepared leader leaves the field with every attached monster.

Recover a mission that is losing time
| Symptom | Correction |
|---|---|
| Seasons pass without measurable progress | Remove side battles and upgrades that do not serve the finish condition |
| The required squad is understrength | Pause expansion and use one stronghold upgrade, Exploration return, or recruitment action to solve its exact gap |
| The economy objective keeps slipping | Freeze duplicate equipment and speculative hires |
| A defended stronghold remains exposed | Consolidate leaders there before sending anyone on Exploration |
| Collection progress stalls | Recheck whether the missing target comes from Exploration, market discovery, hiring, or map access |
What this guide can confirm
The launch information confirms six Story campaigns, 24 Mission Mode nations, short nation stories, 20 save slots, and the objective families listed above. It also confirms stronghold upgrades, Exploration growth, leader-led squads, and full-squad retreat when a leader falls. Exact deadlines, target counts, and starting conditions must be read from the selected mission.
